Along with competing gymnastics
for Stanford, she also participated in several student activities
that taught her about leadership, responsibility, and team-work.
She earned a spot on Stanford’s student-run hip-hop, modern,
jazz dance team called Jam Pac’d. While she performed
with Jam Pac’d, she led a group of freshman athletes in
Stanford’s Partnership For Excellence (PAE), as well as
served as a writing tutor for Stanford students. |

During Sarah’s
last year on campus, she was selected as a Resident Assistant
(RA) where she lived and worked as an academic, social, and
emotional resource for 53 Stanford undergraduates at “Narnia,”
one of the lake houses. She also became a tour guide on campus
recounting the history, modern day architecture, and student
life on campus to visitors and prospective students. Her role
as an RA continued for the next year, helping with Stanford’s
summer programs: Honors College and Summer Research College.
During the summer of 2002, Sarah worked for the Vice Provost
for Undergraduate Education, John Bravman, in the Undergraduate
Research Programs office as the Assistant Director for Stanford’s
Summer Research College. |

Sarah also participated
in Stanford University’s fund raising efforts. As a
recent graduate, she was invited to speak about her overseas
research experience at the launch of Stanford’s biggest
fund raising campaign: a five year one billion dollar Campaign
for Undergraduate Education (CUE). After completing her Masters
degree, Sarah worked part-time
on campus
to help select student speakers
and coach them on their delivery for the “Think Again” tour
in the CUE’s second year. Currently, Sarah serves as
the president of the Stanford Alumni Club of Southern Nevada
aiming to foster a stronger community among local alumni and
parents in the Las Vegas area. Feel free to check out
the club’s
